Aaron Borja, MA (He/Him)

Masters Practicum Trainee 

Aaron is a compassionate and goal-focused therapist who provides a supportive space for clients to navigate life’s challenges. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a fluent Spanish speaker, he is dedicated to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

With over 20 years of experience as a school counselor, Aaron has worked with children, teens, and families facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship struggles. He takes a collaborative approach to therapy, helping clients set meaningful goals and develop practical strategies to achieve them.  Aaron integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Client-Centered care. Whether working with individuals or families, he values empathy, active listening, and teamwork in the healing process.

 

Aaron holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Diego State University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. He is currently completing his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In addition to his clinical training, he has specialized certifications in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1), Suicide Prevention and Intervention, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Aaron offers a sliding scale starting at $20 an hour in addition to the insurances listed below.
