Supervising Clinical Psychologist PSY# 32941
Dr. Katie Moore earned her doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Irvine, CA. After completing her internship with the Orange County Health Care Agency, she was invited to stay on as a staff psychologist. There, she worked for over seven years as a trauma therapist for diverse children and adolescents in residential facilities serving youth in foster care.
Dr. Moore is a highly experienced, licensed clinical psychologist with a remarkable ability to connect with teens and adults who have struggled to make progress or felt hesitant to engage with previous therapists.
She has formal training in two of the leading evidence-based trauma treatments—EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)—Dr. Moore is deeply committed to helping those affected by trauma find lasting healing.
Dr. Moore began her career working with adults, including those with severe and persistent mental illnesses, in a locked psychiatric facility. As her focus shifted to treating trauma, adolescents, and children, she found her true calling. In addition to specializing in complex trauma and treatment-resistant individuals, Dr. Moore has a subspecialty in supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and their families.
Three things Dr. Moore loves most about her work are:

Making a meaningful difference in the lives of her clients

The opportunity to continually learn and understand different cultures, and

The rewarding experience of “putting the puzzle pieces together” to fully understand the people she works with.
